We recommend that all new students start in beginner classes, which focus on basic technique and skills. Beginners may also take mixed level classes, but should complement this training with beginner classes. Beginner classes are not designed to be a level that students move through, as they are focused on building and refining basic skills. Advanced students often take beginner classes to work on the foundation of their technique.
These classes are open to all students but are geared towards whoever is present. If the majority of students in a mixed level class are advanced, the class will be more advanced. Often, to accommodate all levels, the instructor will split the group so that students receive training appropriate to their level.
